In the Seattle area’s competitive custom homebuilding market, there are plenty of contractors ready to deliver the homes of their customers’ dreams with quality construction and a distinct design. However, H2 View Construction has a leg up on its peers by performing as a one-stop shop for clients looking for an easy transaction.

“We excel in customer service because our team works together to provide the entire experience in real estate, design and construction services,” says Kirsten Sessions, project engineer and marketing manager at H2 View. “From purchasing, selling, architecture, interior design and building, our team will provide everything to ensure client satisfaction.”

H2 View specializes in new construction and full renovation of existing homes on view property in the Seattle region. The company targets homes on water-view properties that have the potential to be transformed into a usable, desirable home, according to Sessions.

“Our success comes from the ability to envision both the site and the dwelling to maximize their views and realize the property’s full potential,” she says. “With the skills we have acquired over the past 25 years, we renovate the home and transform the property into a beautiful residence.”

H2 View was launched in 2009 by Mickey and his wife, Sherri Hansen, when they realized their dream of owning their own business to pursue their creative passions.

Mickey Hansen has worked in the construction industry for over 35 years. He spent 25 years as a superintendent and project manager, working on notable projects like the Space Needle’s renovation in 2000 and largescale retail project for well-known retailers including Potter Barn, Restoration Hardware, Sundance and Mobak’s at the U Village in Seattle.
Sherris also owns the Red Door Team at Keller Williams Realty in Bothell, Washington, with her business partner Teresa Barthol.

H2 View has been recognized for its homes as well as its dedication to satisfying its clients. The company earned Best of Houzz Design in 2014 and 2015, as well as Best of Houzz Service for 2016.
Demands in the Pacific Northwest

As a custom homebuilder and remodeler, H2 View has seen its fair share of unusual requests from clients. For example, Sessions says the company tore the entire roof off a home recently in order to top it off with a modern roofline and custom finishes throughout the rest of the home. However, the biggest demand these days is outdoor living areas, according to Sessions. To cater to these requests, H2 View and other contractors have focused on creating open spaces that flow from the indoor entertaining area to a comfortable and covered outdoor area.“We like to use La Cantina pocket doors to really open up the space and provide a great view even when the doors are closed,” Sessions says.

Keeping up with the latest design trends is one more way H2 View separates itself from other builders in the Seattle area. The company remains focused on creating amazing views of one of America’s most beautiful cities and regions by working with architect Darren Pollard of DP Designs, who helps H2 View design open floor plans while maximizing the view.

“Builders continue using yesterday’s traditional design, while H2 View designs feature modern-style, reverse-open floor plans that position public spaces such as kitchens, dining rooms and entertainment areas on the upper levels with the best views,” Sessions says. “Both homeowners and guests can enjoy and appreciate the views that make a property so attractive.”

H2 View currently is building a 5,000-square-foot spec house on the Kirkland, Washington, waterfront that will feature top-of-the-line finishes and will showcase the style of building the company prides itself on providing for its customers.
Sessions says the home will feature an open floor plan for entertaining that flows out to a large, covered deck with a 180-degree view of the water.

Sessions says the executives at H2 View aim to treat employees like members of the family – in fact, three of the 11 staff members are related.
For employees to improve their careers, H2 View offers opportunities to grow and move up while highly encouraging creative thinking and problem solving.

“Our goal is to provide opportunities for employees to grow and expand their careers and to mentor them.” Sessions says.
